The Slow Clap

Throw your hands in the air and wave them like you might have just witnessed something worth caring about, because we proudly present the longest, hardest and slowest clap ever. No applause necessary.

John Wesley Harding and Deni Bonet in an acoustic performance during his guest appearance on Deni’s TV show, “DUETS WITH DENI”. This version is directly from the show archives and features Wes’s entertaining banter.

John Wesley Harding has been joined onstage by Lou Reed, Iggy Pop, John Prine, Bruce Springsteen (with whom he recorded a duet on his album Awake), and Joan Baez amongst others. He has appeared on Late Night with Conan O’Brien, The Late Show with David Letterman, and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. His songs have been featured in films (including High Fidelity) and covered by other artists.

The novel MISFORTUNE, under his real name Wesley Stace, was published to great acclaim in 2004. It was nominated for The Guardian First Book Award, The Commonwealth Writers’ Prize, and was one of the books of the year in The Washington Post and The Boston Phoenix, and was one of Amazon’s Top Ten Novels of the Year. His second novel, BY GEORGE, was published in August 2007.

Deni Bonet is a singer/songwriter and world-class electric violinist. She was an original cast member of National Public Radio’s premier music show, MOUNTAIN STAGE and has performed with Cyndi Lauper, REM, Sarah McLachlan, Robyn Hitchcock, etc. before forming her own highly regarded band. She’s appeared at Lilith Fair, performed on Saturday Night Live, Conan, and the Today Show.

Deni quit the classical world to pursue a solo career because she hated wearing black and having to sit still! The Wall Street Journal recently described Deni’s music as “like Sheryl Crow meets the B52’s”. She’s got a new CD called “LAST GIRL ON EARTH” that will be released in early March.
